House Leagues

Cub Program The Cub Program offers learn-to-skate and play opportunities for those players new to the ice. Cubs offer a unique experience for 4, 5 and 6 year old new skaters to capture the thrill and excitement of the game scaled to their needs. Focus on "fun-damentals" is the rule and all have a great time. When appropriate, these players move into the House League divisions.
House League Program
The house league program allows players to experience competitive play locally. Competition between other in-league teams provides a fun and learning experience. Boys and girls from 4 to 18 compete in their appropriate age divisions from September through March. Each division then holds a playoff tournament to determine an overall winner.
Teams practice on average twice a week until the regular season begins in mid-October.. In order to allow as much ice time as possible, House Teams practice half ice or with another time.
Age levels are determined by USA Hockey. These ages reflect a child birth date as of January 1st

The House League Division also offers a Select Team program which gives House players "a taste of travel hockey" with it's limited travel schedule.
Select Teams All age divisions within the house league form a "Select Team" each season. The select teams carry 13 to 16 players and have the opportunity to play other select teams from around the area. Teams are formed in mid-December and will play 10 games and 2 tournaments…including Erie’s own Joe McCallion Tournament.
Equipment: Rental equipment (not inc. skates, stick and personals) is available to all first year skates as available for a nominal fee of $25. (A $75 refundable security deposit is required.) |
