Between The Pipes

The "Goaltender" is the most important position on a hockey team. Without good goaltending a team’s chance of success are limited. Goalies that can come up with that Big Save can change the entire momentum of a game. Quality goaltending…as the say is Priceless!

That is why Erie Youth Hockey puts a premium on the development of our goaltenders. This section of our website is devoted to helping and encouraging our goalies to become the best they can be! We will be adding and improving this section throughout the year, so please feel free to make suggestions or recommend links that would be of value to our goalies.

New Goalie Manual Available:
Rich Mason, Director of the Goalie Program from the Reston Raiders Hockey Club, has provided a manual for team's goalie coach. Rich describes the manual this way: "The guide does not teach goaltending, but rather how to coach a goalie. Its focus is on goaltending tools, practice plans, strategies and resources."

Coaches and Goalies alike can benefit from this comprehensive guide book.

Download it here.
